Two curious kittens, Gumdrop and Spider, discover a spaceship while exploring Professor Agena B. Armstrong's secret laboratory ... 'ignition sequence start!' Meanwhile, back on Earth, cat-loving hippy grandad, Houston Collins, is wondering why his adventure hungry kittens are late for supper…

Created with support from Arts Council England and Libraries Unlimited, Space Cats was taken to 30 venues across Devon in 2019, including libraries and other non-theatre venues, bringing to many their first experience of live theatre. During 2020 we visited Devon primary schools, socially distancing and performing to ‘bubbles’ during strange times and unfamiliar circumstances. We also made available online a filmed version of Space Cats, and a ‘chill out’ session to help children with their emotional health and wellbeing. Our audiences told us they LOVED the songs, so you can now listen to them here before and after the show, and join in with gusto!

Later that year we partnered with The Astrophysics Group at the University of Exeter and Exeter Science Centre to develop our script to incorporate ‘The Great Conjunction’ and share this exciting new information with primary school children in Exeter, at the same time promoting interest in the University of Exeter’s live-streaming of the event. The Great Conjunction of 2020 was when Jupiter and Saturn were the closest they had been for 400 years.
